Biograhy
Raw and heavy rock with loads of attitude that makes your spines
shiver.
A band from the southern parts of Sweden who is known for their
High-Octanesque sound and well-documented live act reputation.
Cornerstone was formed in 1989 and the band soon got something of a reputation
as a real live band. They have done numbers of tours in Sweden
as well as playing festivals
in the hole of Scandinavia,
England, The Netherlands and Russia. For instance they played
at the Greenbelt festival (GB) two years in a row, Flevo festival
(ND) and two arena festivals
in St Petersburg Russia, one
broadcast to over 80 million TV listeners & one headlining together
with Slade.
When the band started 1989 they were into Southern rock with
some acoustic sound.
1990/1991 they changed some members
and started to play more powerful bluesrock.
At this time
they became well known as a great liveband with a lot of energy.
1997 a new drummer joined the band (Mick Nordström, former Modest
Attraction).
This also helped the band to change the sound
in a heavier way.
Cornerstone is pure, hard, raw and heavy rock!
The first album "DUST" was released 1993 and
has a raw powerblues sound.
It was recorded in 5 days at Stable Hill studio Gothenburg. One of the songs
"Whiskey and women" was written 4 a.m. and recorded
with a cheap tape recorder.
The second album "FLYING GASOLINE" was released
1995 and has a more slick sound.
Recorded during a time of 6 months in a mobile studio.
It
features both heavy songs and sensitive blues song.
The bands third album "JESUS RIDES HARLEY TOO",
released 1998,
sounds a lot different from the others. It´s
much more heavier and rawer rock.
The recording is produced
by Cornerstone and recorded live in the studio
with no overdubs
that creates a near and energetic sound.
This is raw unpolished
rock at it´s best!
All albums have received general great critical acclaim.
If you want to fill your soul with raw energy, don´t miss
Cornerstone!
